Important information about appointments, cancellations, payment, insurance, referrals, and what to expect at Autumn Oak Speech, Voice and Hearing in Friendswood, TX.

Yes — all services at Autumn Oak Speech, Voice and Hearing are by appointment. This protects the time you need for thorough hearing evaluations, speech therapy sessions, vestibular testing, and hearing aid fittings without interruption.

We allow drop-offs for certain situations that require immediate attention. Please call first and our front desk staff will determine if a drop-off is appropriate and can be accommodated. Drop-offs are not a substitute for regular routine check-up appointments.

To schedule, call (346) 474-4626 — Ext. 2 for the speech pathology clinic at 820 S Friendswood Dr, or Ext. 3 for the audiology clinic at 699 S Friendswood Dr.

Please arrive promptly so your provider can spend the full visit on your care. If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled and you will need to reschedule. Tardiness affects both your visit and the patients scheduled after you.

We understand your time is valuable and will do our best to respect it and see you in a timely manner. Occasionally a situation or emergency causes a provider to run late as well — please be patient under these rare circumstances. If you are running behind, call (346) 474-4626 as early as possible so we can let your provider know.

We understand schedules change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours' notice so we can offer that time to another patient. As a courtesy, our office calls scheduled patients one day prior to confirm.

If you miss two consecutive appointments without prior notification (No Show), all future appointments will be removed from your schedule. To restart care after that point, simply call (346) 474-4626 and our team will help you find a new time at the speech or audiology clinic.

If you have recurring appointments — for example, weekly speech therapy or monthly tinnitus follow-ups — please confirm each one with the receptionist. We do not automatically carry recurring appointments over from month to month. Always check that you are on the schedule for the next visit before you leave the office.

This policy keeps our calendar accurate and ensures every patient has a confirmed time. To verify upcoming appointments at either clinic, call (346) 474-4626 — Ext. 2 for speech pathology, Ext. 3 for audiology.

Payment is expected at the time of service. This includes copays, deductibles, hearing aid consultation fees, and any portion of services not covered by your insurance plan. Our financial policy is included inside each new patient intake packet on our Patient Forms page — please review and sign it before your first visit.

For patients without insurance or with limited coverage, CareCredit financing and our Hearing Health Plans subscription help spread out-of-pocket costs over time. Visit our Insurance & Financing page for details.

We are in-network with most major health insurance plans for both speech pathology and audiology services in Friendswood, TX, including coverage that extends to hearing aids when your plan includes that benefit. Please note that Medicaid is not accepted.

At each visit, we will scan a current copy of your insurance card and driver's license, so please bring them along. It is your responsibility to inform our office of any insurance changes before your appointment so we can verify your benefits and avoid surprise costs at the time of service.

It depends on your plan. If your carrier requires a referral or pre-authorization for speech therapy, an audiology evaluation, or vestibular testing, you are responsible for obtaining the referral prior to your appointment. If no referral is on file or it has not been received by the time of your visit, the appointment will be cancelled and rescheduled.

If you are not sure whether your plan requires a referral, contact your insurance company directly or call our patient accounts team at (346) 474-4626 — we are happy to help you verify before your visit.

Certain services performed in our office are not covered by insurance plans, and the cost of those services is the patient's financial responsibility. Our team will let you know in advance whenever a planned service is unlikely to be covered.

Hearing aid consultations are not covered by insurance; payment is due at the time of service. Please bring a copy of your most recent audiogram (less than one year old) so the consultation is thorough — without it, we will reschedule the appointment so we can complete an updated hearing evaluation first.

If you need a copy of your medical records — including audiograms, speech therapy progress notes, or visit summaries — please allow 7–10 business days for completion. To start the request, call (346) 474-4626 (Ext. 2 for speech, Ext. 3 for audiology) or stop by the front desk at either clinic.

Records are released directly to you or to a third party (such as a physician or school) per your written authorization. The release form is available at the front desk or upon request.
