Dr. Michelle Saltarrelli, AuD, CCC, A/SLP

Dr. Michelle Saltarrelli resides in Pearland with her husband and five sons. During her family time, she and husband are watching their sons in various sports and band events. Sports include venues for both school and local recreational organizations. Dr. Saltarrelli achieved her Master of Science Degree in 2001 from Southeastern Louisiana University and her Doctorate of Audiology in 2008 from Louisiana Tech University. Her residency was completed at Methodist Hospital in the Medical Center and at Houston Ear Research Foundation (HERF). Dr. Saltarrelli’s career includes adjunct professor, researcher, and speaker at national conferences for audiologists and speech language pathologists. She hosts her own live, monthly talk radio show on 700AM Meet the Experts.

Dr. Carrie Raz, AuD, CCC-A

Dr. Carrie Raz was born and raised in the Houston area and currently lives in Pearland with her husband and 2 children. As a native Houstonian, she is a big fan of the Houston Astros or any local sports team. Dr. Raz loves being close to her parents and 5 siblings, who the majority live in the greater Houston area. Dr. Raz enjoys problem solving and thinking outside the box. Dr. Raz received both her Bachelor’s in Communication Disorders in 2011 and Doctorate in Audiology in 2015 at Lamar University in Beaumont. Her 4th year externship was completed in Brooklyn, New York with a private practice that contracted with an otologist, pediatric otolaryngologist, and general otolaryngologist. Throughout her career she has worked with several different specialists to provide a more holistic approach for patient care. Dr. Raz loves to make her patients to feel heard as well as hear their best with her patient driven care.

OUR THERAPISTS

 

Eshita Anjum M.A., CCC-SLP, Lead Speech Language Pathologist

Eshita Anjum was born and raised in Bangladesh and has been residing in Houston since 2009. She lives with her husband, son, and three fur babies (two cats and a dog). She is multilingual; fluent in Bengali and English and can comprehend/converse in Hindi.

Eshita earned her master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Houston in 2019. Soon after completing her clinical fellowship at Autumn Oak, she began working full time, and currently is the Lead Speech Language Pathologist. Eshita is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Training (LSVT-LOUD), neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES), myofascial release, and has experience working in the medical field (acute care, inpatient, outpatient). She specializes in diagnosing and treating adult patients who have experienced a stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s Disease, and those who need an augmentative and alternative communication system (AAC) to communicate. At Autumn Oak, patient care comes first and as a Lead Speech Language Pathologist, Eshita ensures that all our therapists provide quality care to our patients consistently.

In her free time, you will find her traveling, watching movies, reading books, or spending time with her family.

 

Nancy Alvarez M.S., CCC-SLP, Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist

Nancy Alvarez was born in Beaumont, Texas and was raised in the small town of China, Texas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences at Lamar University in 2017, then pursued her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2020 at Lamar University.

She loves playing sports just as much as watching them! She has played soccer since the age of 6 and continued to play throughout high school. Being outdoors is where you can find Nancy on her days off. You can find her taking a jog, playing disc golf, or walking her dog. She enjoys traveling, attending concerts, and spending quality time with her family.

One of the many things Nancy loves about her role as a speech-language pathologist is the ability to improve an individual’s quality of life. “I can treat various communication and swallowing difficulties using an evidence-based approach. I strive to be up-to-date on current research, clinical skills, and personal growth as a professional to best serve my community.”

 

Kameron Whigham M.S., CCC-SLP

Kameron Whigham was born and raised in the Houston area until moving to Austin to pursue her bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and Disorders from UT Austin. Then earning her master’s in communication Disorders from Texas State, Round Rock. She currently resides in the Pasadena area with her husband, son, and dog. On her free time, she enjoys going on walks, cross stitching, and trying out new things like gardening and cooking. “I am excited to be a part of the Autumn Oak team! It is a joy working together with each client to best serve their individual needs.”

 

 

Deborah Sherwin M.A., CCC-SLP

For Deborah Sherwin, Texas has recently become her home. Deborah, along with her husband and three teen children, moved from North Carolina and now reside in Friendswood, TX. She worked as a school-based SLP for 18 years in the same public school system. She arrived in TX not knowing where she would land professionally. “Serendipity brought me to Autumn Oak Speech and Hearing, as I was seeking new hearing aids, and walked into the wrong office. I arrived at the Speech Language one, rather than the Audiology building! All the office staff and therapists were so welcoming and warm, I just had to pursue a spot on their therapy team.”

 She describes herself as a homebody, but you can find her enjoying a nature walk in the woods or playing with her dogs in the yard. She finds much joy in helping both kids and adults grow their communication skills. “I landed within the best “work family” possible for me, and feel very fortunate to work with such an awesome team of staff and other therapists.”

 

Diana Mendoza, Bilingual Speech Language Pathology Assistant

Diana Mendoza was born and raised in Houston, TX and now currently lives in the Pasadena area with her cute sassy dog, Glia. She enjoys camping, hiking, and going to different state/national parks when on vacation. On her days off, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, walking her dog, and searching for the best boba tea around town.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree of Science in Speech Language Pathology & Audiology from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2016. She began her journey in this incredible career when her cousin received a cochlear implant and soon after began receiving speech therapy services. “I knew then that I wanted to help others to communicate and make a difference in their lives, just as much as her team has made such an impact in hers. I strive to be that for the families I serve at Autumn Oak. I am thankful to be a part of the Autumn Oak team! We are professional, compassionate, and we love what we do!

 

Vilma Sandoval, Speech Language Pathology Assistant, Marketing Director

Vilma Sandoval was born and raised in Houston, Texas and currently resides in Rosharon, TX with her husband and three dogs.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Houston in 2017. While in school, Dr. Saltarrelli was her professor and soon became her mentor. Since receiving observation hours for school, she began working as an office administrator. Once she graduated, she began working full time as an SLP Assistant. She enjoys working with children and providing the best quality of care!

“Working at Autumn Oak has been an amazing experience! Meeting all our patients from different walks of life and seeing how our services can enhance their quality of life is a gift I do not take for granted!”

On her days off you will find her camping, fishing, singing or shopping!

Sheri Sheehan, Chief Administrator

Sheri Sheehan was born in Denton, Texas and moved to Lake Jackson, Texas when she was 5 years old. She is a graduate of Brazoswood High School and attended college in Huntsville at Sam Houston State University.

She has been married for 27 years to her husband.  They have two kids, a son and daughter who are 25 and 22 years old.

They moved to Pearland in 1998 and consider Pearland home.

Sheri enjoys reading, puzzles, traveling, hiking, cruising, and the great outdoors. She has visited beautiful places around the world like Bolivia, Greece, Rome and of course a little closer to home Alaska, Yosemite, Maine, and many more. 

Her and her family attend Second Baptist Church in Pearland and are very active in their church community. They serve on the first impressions team, and love to serve their community through their church like feeding and clothing the hungry and bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to people.

She started working at Autumn Oak in 2013. “I am the chief administrator in the hearing clinic.  I absolutely love my job and the people I work with. I enjoy getting to know each of our patients and seeing the improvements in their quality of life that we help provide them with.”

Michele Landry, Office Manager

Michele Landry was born in Pasadena, Texas and moved to the Pearland area about ten years ago. She is married to her amazing husband and is the mother to one eighteen-year-old son. She also has two husky girls Lola and Blew that love to talk.  When Michele is not at work, she often spends time with her family watching sports or will head to a casino.

Michele started working at Autumn Oak in May 2021. “My heart is always with the patients and being able to help them get the services they need is very rewarding.  I have worked in various fields of healthcare for the past 13 years, so I have a lot of experience when helping others.”

Alex Ortiz, Medical Billing Specialist

Alex Ortiz was born in Manhattan, New York and raised in Pearland, Texas. She graduated from Dawson High School in 2016 and is currently attending San Jacinto College for medical billing & coding. Alex loves to help people. That has always been her true passion. She has 2 dogs, Max and Chico who she loves and adores. Some of her hobbies include doing makeup, spending time with family and playing with her dogs. Alex loves her job and feels blessed to be a part of the Autumn Oak team. She hopes to help patients in any way she can. 

 

Raquel Roybal, Senior Office Administrator

Raquel Roybal was born and raised in Santa Fe, NM and also grew up in Pojoaque, NM. She now resides in Nassau Bay, TX with three of her four kids.

On her off time, she volunteers with a Domestic Violence shelter. She is an advocate for suicide awareness and has spent years as part of a Grass Roots organization fighting for early childhood education.

She is also currently in school to obtain her nursing degree as she has worked in the medical field for 18+ years now.

Working at Autumn Oak has brought Raquel so much joy and feels it has been truly rewarding. “It is a place that cares like family. We have a wonderful team of SLP’s that work with our patients to help bring confidence, as well as an added support to help meet their goals so that they’re set up for success.”

 

Brittany Bartolf, Senior Office Administrator 

Brittany Bartolf was born and raised in the Houston area. Some things she enjoys are spending time with family, cooking, dining out, and volunteering at her church.

“As a front office administrator, I have the privilege of coordinating with our patients and staff to ensure that our plan of care for them fits well with their schedules. It is a blessing to get to work with such a wonderful team and to share the joy of seeing our patients benefit from our services.”

 

 

 

Natalie Bartolf, Office Administrator

Natalie Bartolf  was born and raised in Houston with her three older sisters. She currently lives in Pearland with her family and her cat, Bella. On her off time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, baking, volunteering at church, and shopping.

“I joined Autumn Oak team in October 2021 as an office administrator. It is a privilege to get to work with such an amazing team and amazing patients.”
