Transsexual Voice Therapy

Individuals may decide to work with a speech pathologist to assist with a healthy approach toward voice modification. Medical history will be collected as well as a voice and language assessment. The therapist will ensure the elimination of vocal abuse due to pitch and intensity changes, which can cause medical conditions such as vocal nodules.The following are some of the things that may be targeted:

Resonance
Intonation (the rhythm of speech)
Rate (how fast or slow the person speaks)
Volume/intensity
Language
Speech sound production (articulation)
Pragmatics (social rules of communication)
