Real ear measurement (REM) is a verification technique where a thin probe microphone is placed in your ear canal alongside the hearing aid. It measures the actual sound output reaching your eardrum and compares it to your audiologist's prescription targets — confirming the fit is accurate, not just estimated by the manufacturer's first-fit software.

Studies consistently show that fittings verified with REM produce significantly better outcomes than those relying on first-fit alone.
